Stamos, Romijn Split
It has been confirmed by their publicist, that after five years of marriage John Stamos and Rebecca Romijn-Stamos have called it quits.
Sadly another seemingly happy Hollywood couple has called it quits. It has been confirmed that Full House actor John Stamos and his model-turned-actress wife Rebecca Romijn-Stamos have separated. Reportedly, the former Victoria’s Secret model has been denying rumors for weeks that they were on the verge of a break-up, but her publicist Lewis Kay confirmed the split.
Kay said in a statement, "The split is amicable and they have asked that the media please respect their privacy regarding this situation during this difficult time." Kay did say that no third party was involved in the decision. According to a source, the couple split because Stamos, 40, wanted to begin having a family while Romijn-Stamos, 31, wasn’t ready for motherhood. Other sources have speculated that the couple’s problems stem from Romijn-Stamos’ ever-growing career, while Stamos’ career seems at a standstill.
When the couple met, John’s career was in full swing. He had gotten his big break playing Blackie Parrish on General Hospital and found fame on the sitcom Full House. They met in 1994 in New York while Romijn was working the runway at a Victoria’s Secret fashion show. They wed four years later in September 1998. Romijn-Stamos has welcomed big screen success after two turns as Mystique in the first two installments of The X-Men. While John is now a spokesman for 10-10-220, Rebecca has a number of movies in her future. Maybe he got tired of watching her star rise, or maybe she tired of watching his sink.
