Mary-Kate Olsen: Too Much Partying?
Sources worry that since Mary-Kate Olsen was released from rehab for anorexia, she has been partying a bit too much.
It seems that Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen have been adjusting to life in the Big Apple as they prepare to start college on September 7th at New York University. The twins have been spotted around town partying until the wee hours of the morning and having a great time. They have been dubbed the new "queens of NYC nightlife." The girls have been spotted at different hot spots like Marquee and Bungalow 8, surrounded by girlfriends and pounding Red Bull energy drinks.
Is Mary-Kate having too much fun and is it healthy fun? Dr. Linda Hamilton, author of the book, The Person Behind the Mask, which is about eating disorders in the arts, said, "Being out with friends is a good thing, but it doesn’t sound like health is her main priority. Focusing on getting her eating in order – that’s where all her energy should be right now…[not] going to clubs until two in the morning." She also added that drinking hyper-caffeinated energy drinks like Red Bull is "actually one of the hidden signs of an eating disorder."
Despite the fact that she gained more than 10 pounds she is still excruciatingly thin. One has to wonder if she is in fact getting better. Michael Pagnotta, her rep, said, "She has an excellent team of people working with her on a daily basis. She’s enjoying what is left of her summer – and is getting ready to buckle down for school." Hopefully the stress of starting college does not lead her back down the path to anorexia. Then again, maybe she will gain the requisite "freshman fifteen!"
